Kerry Mahoney, Director of the Family Resource Center has developed and directed programs for people with disabilities and their families for over 20 years. Kerry first began working with children and adults with special needs in High School as a recreation volunteer at a local Arc. A graduate of Emmanuel College, Kerry received her degree in Psychology/Rehabilitation Counseling. Since college Kerry has directed residential programs for adults with mental retardation, worked as an aide in a special needs classroom, overseen respite care and specialized home care programs and expanded Personal Care Assistance programs for individuals needing a surrogate. After joining EMARC nine years ago Kerry worked with a Family Council to create The Family Resource Center. The Centers philosophy of what ever it takes now offers an array of both traditional and non traditional programs supporting families who are raising children with special needs birth through adulthood.
